OTA has analyzed more than 750 domains and privacy policies, 10000 web pages, and 500 million emails for this report. The analysis report is focusing on a website and server security, domain, brand, email and consumer safety, and privacy policy and practices. The repost also analyzed Domain Name Systems (DNS), outbound emails, websites, and public records.

According to Craig Spiezle, president of OTA- Consumers are exchanging in billions of pieces of personal data for preferred services. They depend on the reliability of the businesses acquiring and keeping this data to protect them.

The report ignored the company size and sales figure, as it believes that large organizations have failed to make top position in sales, while small and medium size organizations have reached on top position regarding sales figure.

There were companies failed in subsequent positions:

  • 22% companies have inadequate domain and consumer protection.
  • 11% websites were insecure websites.
  • 35% websites have inadequate privacy policies or data collection practices.

The report also includes the top 50 Social and Federal Government sites. Twitter had succeeded the top overall composite score and American Greetings attained the first ranking of all internet retailers.
